We got a bunch of plants from a really nice lady on Freecycle! Here are some of the plants we got, there were maybe 20 in total!

Eating some chives while planning our herb garden.  We have chives, 2 types of marjoram, mint and rosemary!

Lavender!!  I need this to be really big, but don’t know how long it will take!  We have about 4 of them.

Hydrangea, which I’m also hoping grows fast!

Okay, so I’m hoping everything grows fast.  I’d love this rosemary to be really big and be able to take lots off it to cook with!  I raided my wood scrap bags to make sign posts for some of the plants.  I think this scrap was from making a lucet!

If any of you reading this are gardeny types, do you know how long these will take to grow?  I think maybe I should expect to see them growing and flowering next summer, and any earlier will be a bonus!  I’ve never done gardening before, so I hope everything lives!

Some Outside Watercolors

We had such a nice time relaxing outside in the sun, painting. Finished! You can see some of the wooden butterfly she’s painting a picture of… They said painting outside is their favorite thing, so we’ll do it again when it’s warm enough!

Identifying Blossoms

We have these beautiful wild cherry trees out back and went to identify them with our little blossom and catkin booklet we made.  You can print out the sheet here, cut it up and staple it together for a nice little booklet to take with you everywhere! We have a bunch of different ones we [...]

Making Pickles

Once in a while we go on a pickle making binge.  We make them and when they run out, we make some more! We mix up some vinegar and sea salt and pour it into the jars.  We then cut the cucumbers into sticks, put in a few chopped up garlic cloves and lots of [...]
